British Columbia Newcomers is a Canadian registered charity that operates free programming for recently arrived refugee children and youth. By teaching English language skills and a variety of sports and playground games, our immersive and engaging learning environment equips newly arrived refugee children with the tools and confidence needed to succeed in their new home.

By operating free educational and recreational summer camps, we equip newcomer refugee children with the skills and confidence needed to more easily make friends and succeed socially and academically in their new home.

Summer Camps

Our Summer Camps provide an immersive and engaging environment that prepares newly arrived refugee children with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their new home, by developing English skills through a variety of fun activities and sports.

 

Newcomers to Notes

Our free music education program for newcomer refugee children. The lessons are delivered in-person by experienced musicians. All required instruments and music books are provided. Music education curriculum includes music theory, note reading, and hands-on training to play piano.

Welcome to Canada

Our after-school program delivered online to Government Assisted Refugees and focuses on building English language skills in a fun and welcoming environment. We provide access to technology for the whole family and aim to increase digital literacy.
